There are ~50 million cases of #sepsis every year, half occuring in babies & children, primarily in 🏥.

Most of the 11 million deaths caused by sepsis are preventable, through low-cost infection prevention & control measures, early diagnosis & rapid treatment.

Nobody should die while seeking care.

Today, @who.int evacuated 18 child & 1 adult patient from #Gaza to #Jordan, along with 62 companions.

Since Oct 2023, WHO has supported medical evacuations for 7600+ patients, incl. 5300 child patients.

Still, 15,800+ critical patients need urgent specialised care that they can't receive in Gaza.
