You totally missed the point that the customer NEVER GETS CASH. The customer only gets the opportunity to trade scrip for some goods that Costco chooses to offer at whatever price it sets. It's a closed system like what was offered to miners in a company town or as a migratory farm laborer.

But you can only get those 'cash rewards' in the form of a voucher that can only be redeemed at Costco. In other words, they keep all the money they've convinced you you're generating.

And I recently saw Kirkland vodka for sale at a local independent liquor store in Indianapolis. With distribution so tightly controlled by the state, how is that possible?

Can we please stop using the term 'food stamps?' It was retired in 2008, for good reason, in that it reinforced negative stereotypes of having to use nutrition assistance funds.
