Fan account about Polish sophistipop master, Basia, and her collaborator Danny White. Probably some Matt Bianco content, too.

Today in 1990, Basia's "Baby You're Mine" peaked at 18 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart. It's definitely not of that era, musically - 18 was pretty good!

Basia your last name is long and weird
Awesome thanks I'm totally putting it on a T-shirt now

The quirkiest Basia tour shirt, spoofing fashion labels like Z Cavaricci, came out for the 1994 tour. Is on eBay! (The back says Basia, don't worry.)

Today would have been Polish rock singer Kora's 74th birthday. I highly recommend checking her out in Maanam! An excellent post punk rock band in Poland. Here is Kora, Basia, radio host Marek Niedźwiecki and British trumpeter Kevin Robinson, 1994ish

Any day is a good day to hug a tree, write a song about it.

(Basia hugging an olive tree, by her friend in France who told her about the local legend that if you hug an olive tree, your wish will come true. Then she, Danny White and Kevin Robinson wrote a song about that)

This was my high school taste. (Along with Tori Amos and Kate Bush)
Brave New Hope was originally a CD-5. After the success of London Warsaw New York, and hoping that Basia would release a 1992, Epic added B sides from Time and Tide, rereleasing BNH as a full EP, including a cassette.

In early 1988, while the Time and Tide album was still slowly percolating in the US, Basia opened for Billy Ocean in the UK. This is the page in the tour program about her. Soon, Basia would be headlining her own tour in the United States. Text also in ALT.

May it one day lead to change vs words.

A very large collection of Basia singles, EPs, sheet music and album variants, all related to the London Warsaw New York album. Formats range from cassingles to MiniDisc to Polish vinyl on Veriton. What kind of nerd does this (it's me, I'm the nerd) #vinyl #recordcollection #nowplaying #musicnerd

The concert tee from Basia's 2011 From Newport to London tour. I bought this along with the live album of the same name at her sold out Chicago House of Blues show, Sept 11 2011.
