We've had 61mm rain in the last two days on the Moray coast which is pretty bang on the average for the whole of December. This has fallen on ground that was already saturated with more rain due tonight. I've not seen this much surface water in the 8 years I've been up here, not quite 2002.. yet

@metoffice.bsky.social I've noticed the data from the radar on the 'last 6 hours' rainfall page on your app doesn't always match the '5 day forecast' rain radar. E.g it has been raining here for the last 6 hours but not picked up on the forecast radar. Is there a way to get resolve this?

The house price divide across the UK. Great ONS website for showing students the variation. I compared a very north county vs a very south one! (1/2)

Agree, I also binned it. This is much better if you haven't already read it. More in depth volcanology.

Lots of chat over the last few years about energy price rises, but for the minority in the UK who use heating oil to heat the home it's a fairly similar picture price wise compared with 12 years ago.

Benedict Evans, tech commentator, annual presentation on tech trends is out. Long presentation but worth a scan.

Interesting to note in a US poll that the education sector was in the top 5 for weekly use of AI tools.

This is one of the best mountaineering/climbing books I've read in a long time. Grim but good.

Recommended for Christmas lists.
