Weeks ago, I ordered young plants for our landscaping work. They arrived today, along with snow. Can I still plant them? Protect them? Or should they overwinter indoors?

Genuinely offended that I have to wear a coat to a show tonight and then figure out what to do with said coat during the show.
a woman is wearing a blue fur coat and dancing in a room .
Alt: I would throw it on the floor, but I really like this coat

I would not want to be driving a box truck in this wind.

With this wind, I have rescued three of my neighbors' trash cans from making a break for it.

I need the snow to hold off just a week or so because we will be digging into the ground next week and I would like there to not be issues.

A friend shared 8 AI-generated headshots of herself. They don't even look like her.

Friend: So which one should I use?
Me: None of them.
F: None?!
Me: If I was hiring and you gave me this, I would not consider you because you're already not presenting the real you.

Whether or not you plan to cook the turkey breast-side down, it is a good idea to defrost it that way so the juices can collect on the breast meat.

What are you buying your 5- and 7-year-old girls this Christmas? What do they like?

My tiny Pittsburgh suburb has a light-up night. I have no idea where it happens or what they light up.

Also the photos of deer that people take out is gross. No one needs to see the bloody carcass.

A friend reposted an image of a local hunter who shot a very large black bear. I wasn't aware there was even a bear season. Why shoot a bear? Who are you, Teddy Roosevelt? Gonna make a rug out of it?

I love all of the arcades popping up again! This one is in Duquesne. I'm excited to visit. :)

There's also a great one on the South Side called Victory Pointe.
Here's a sneak preview of a wild new arcade that is coming in January 2026. Located in the Pittsburg area, members of the Pittsburgh Arcade Collective have turned a beautiful retired church into a new Retro Arcade.

Scientists found a TAAR5 gene variant that makes rotten fish smell like caramel. Not everyone has it.

Today a woman opened tinned fish in a tiny room and slowly snacked on it.

She must have that caramel gene. The rest of us smelled the end times.

I will never understand bagging up leaves to send them to the landfill. They won't biodegrade there, they just rot and become methane. Leaves are free compost and a benefit to your yard in many ways.
