Google suggests that the change was earlier than I realised. It became impossible to set up new entails in 1925 and, after that, it was relatively easy to break the entail. I assume it was broken by Nigel's father. As you say though, Nigel loved the old conventions.

I think Nigel may have inherited under the entail but, since then, the legal framework for those has been dismantled. Nigel chose to write his will following the traditional system but, without the entail, Freddie isn't tied as to who he can leave it to, when the time comes.

I thought they'd lent them their space heaters.

Yes, I would have thought so. Trouble is, both he and Ed suspect he might be fast tracked back inside. Given that the police weren't involved, this seems unlikely to me.

I assume she's going on a Working Holiday Visa. So long as you've got the necessary AUD670 (around £330), it looks as if that's easy enough to get. She's then allowed to work, while she's out there. She should be well placed to get hospitality work.

Most often wood, but I have heard it used of stone, as well. I think it can be a thin layer of any material, laid over a (generally cheaper) material.

Maybe, if she and Brad get together, she'll decide that university might be a good idea, after all. She and Brad might move to Felpersham and settle there.

I agree. Like her mother, she's frequently unlikeable but they both have moments of being really kind, and empathetic, people. That's the kind of complex characterisation which TA has always done so well.

You've left off one of the most likely, in my opinion, candidates. George himself. If that happened, you can imagine how Emma, in particular, will guilt trip Chris, Jolene, and others, for how they treated him.

Yes, I think that's a big part of it, along with it being easier to remain in denial about how serious it is, if he doesn't have to go to the doctor. The other factor is that he doesn't want to risk being told he needs to take time off work, even if he knows, really, that he should.

Domestic Violence.

It would also be almost impossible to pull that trick with a character we've known since his conception. Rob was only in the village for a few years, so it wasn't surprising that most people took him at face value.

Once again, I've rapidly been proved wrong!

I think that yes, he probably will. It's possible that he'll confront George about it but he won't want to worry Emma.

Yes, George has definitely learned from Grandpa Eddie. Retain the patronising attitude, while actually relying on the woman in your life to keep the show on the road.

Yes, but not quite so readily available, if he has to go looking. If it takes a bit of time to find a weapon to use on himself, the more chance there is that he'll think better of it.

Yes, sadly that would be another, all too possible, outcome. It's a good thing that Will no longer owns a gun.

I agree but I really hope that Brad persuades him to tell the truth, if only within the family.

At the moment, I wouldn't give much for his chances of still being outside this time next year.

It really hasn't helped him the way that, every time he messes up, his family either find excuses for him or, like Ed tonight, flatly deny his culpability. Other than the shock of finding himself inside, purely due to Emma and Susan's malice, he's had very little incentive to learn.

After last week, in the absence of George admitting what he did, Amber's going to absolutely refuse to believe any murmurings of the truth and will loudly protest his innocence to all and sundry. At least until he hits her or, at the least, gives her a shove or two.

And, once again, Ed covers up for him and protects him from having any consequences, even within the family, for his behaviour.

I really hope so! I agree that that's looking the most likely, I'd be surprised if George and Amber are still together by the new year.

I took it as related to the George / Brad / Amber triangle. That could easily prove to be either a red herring or a side drama though.

Agreed. If she ended up with Brad though, she'd get Tracey and her family, which would be just as loving.
