My six month old puppy, Arlo, joined me at #DrawTheLine in Peterborough this morning. Canadians really need to start connecting the dots and draw the line before it’s too late.

Our puppy Arlo is keeping us on our toes. Reality can be hard and dogs help in all the ways they bring joy and love to our lives. #InternationalDogsDay

This book has been on my “look for” list & seeing it on the front table at our local indie bookshop, Take Cover, made me grateful for the shop’s recognition of @garthmullins.bsky.social unrelenting resistance and compassion.

My neighbours’ magnolia trees were badly damaged in the big ice storm and yet these blooms have brightened our street this week. The resiliency of nature. 🌏 May it somehow survive humans’ constant attacks and apathy.

I find stuff like this so beautiful and interesting even in the midst of such a storm. This was on a Peterborough street yesterday. I hope people have found warm places to sleep.

Great Wednesday night show at the Gordon Best Theatre in #Peterborough
Such a great live music venue.
Love the new song @dannymichelmusic.bsky.social even with the doo-op bridge. The chorus is a banger!

With all the upheaval and reckoning with the onslaughts of unfettered capitalism & fascism, I’ve needed a diversion/outlet. I’m volunteering locally but have also been trying my hand at #visiblemending
Kinda symbolic of what we need to be doing in our communities.

Students emailing about fever, coming to class with symptoms, roommates with strep, Covid tests unavailable, norovirus wreaking havoc…yet air filters are turned off, classes are stuffy and few people mask. Amazing how quickly the precautionary principle was forgotten. We call this #highered ?
