Yes! I have a pumpkin onesie that I live for. The year my son went as a turtle, I wore a blue onesie and wore a name tag that said "The Ocean". If I can turn our costume into a onesie for me, I will do it without hesitation.

Have you read The Good Mother Myth by Nancy Reddy? She digs into this a bit, but also how pretty much all of the major parenting advice over the last 100 or so years is based on the work of men with an axe to grind (and oftentimes with their own mothers).

I can smell this description and it's taking me back to my grandparents' basement. Thank you!

The problem is also that it's easy to make being elected your entire identity, which makes it easy to convince yourself that only you can do the job, so you start making concessions to keep votes/donors for the next election until eventually you're just upholding the status quo you wanted to upend.

This unique structure is what gave me an access point to pass an ordinance requiring them to report communicable diseases to the fire dept but it also makes it easy for them to avoid accountability by engaging in "he said/she said" arguments with the feds.

I really wish I had updated that photo before I hit publish but I selected it late at night and after a cocktail. 😅

What's funny (sad funny, not haha funny) is that I just wrote about why I decided to keep my married last name. And now, here we are.

Although to be fair, my mom was a single mom when I was born so I could go back to her maiden name which was pretty bad ass!
