Hi my name’s Élle - I’m an illustrator and surface pattern designer based near Toronto, Canada. I work mostly on pieces inspired by mythology, horror folklore and occult history.

Witch House - Black and white ink illustration on textured paper of a witch’s house surrounded by swirling magical orbits. A Victorian revival house with a large central spire and wrap around porch is in front of a black ink cloud. The base of the house has a small fence near it and small shrubs. The porch wraps around the entire house and the railing has delicate filigree all throughout. Behind is a black door with small stained glass windows. The second story is a large overhang roof with part of the large central spire and a square back for the rear of the house. The third story tower as a wrap around balcony at the top with a railing with filigree details and rounded archways. Around it are celestial orbits. Ink illustration of a birch forest is an asymmetrical a line modern cabin with a large focal glass picture window dived into 6 on the second floor and a glass door on the bottom. To the left is a single fluffy birch tree. The cabin and the focal tree are on a wrap around deck with stairs to the left. The whole thing is on textured homemade paper Altar prayer card for the goddess Diana. A rectangular card has a black border with parts of the Orphic hymn for Diana surrounding it as a border in white text. In the bottom right are twin arrows over a crescent moon representing her and Apollo. In the bottom left and top right are white outlined 8 point stars. Inside the border is a marble shockwave black and grey pattern with white outlining that forms an arch at the top with lining to look like columns on both sides. In the middle is a stag skull with painted antlers of a diamond and star pattern. Behind the skull are smaller 8 point stars and cloud ripples. Above the skull is a scraggly branch of queen Anne’s lace with small dots above. In the top corners are two constellations for Sirius as her hunting dogs and Roman numerals for 13 and 8 for the date of the Nemoralia festival. Corvus & Crater - Black and white depicting the myth of Corvus and Crater. The entire background is black with grain shading and a star map showing the constellations Corvus and Crater in the southern sky. In the top left is an outline of a sun representing Apollo with a glowing black water serpent winding in and around it. In the middle sweeping down from the top right is a large crow in profile. In the middle in a double handle crater with Apollo’s laurel leaf on it. In the bottom right is a black lyre and in the bottom left is a large fig tree with one fig cut in half. Behind in the bottom half are swirling white lines representing water.

An acrylic gouache painting of Kim from that same session. I don't think it captures his gorgeousness, but I still really dug the way it came out.
