admittedly, unless you have an extremely good telescope, none of them will resolve as anything other than dots

I started very recently, so it's only about 10 or so currently. some of the first ones are brighter like Ceres, Pallas, Juno or Vesta, and should be visible in a small telescope without any other gear. they only rise in the very early mornings at this time of year though

yes, I’m trying to photograph every single of the first 100 asteroids recorded.
there are plenty of softwares and websites that tell you where solar system objects are in the sky at any given time. I orient myself to a fairly bright nearby star and then compare other stars to a simulation.
Example:

this is over the course of about an hour, with a field of view less than half the size of the moon.
the motion relative to background stars is very subtle, you wouldn't be able to notice by just looking at it

frankly a complete accident that I captured that galaxy. didn't know it existed until I saw it on the images

it's my favorite stacking software for basically everything outside of major planets

as a telescope I use a Celestron NexStar 6SE which has a computerized tracking mount.
for the camera I use a Canon EOS 5D Mark IV.
I capture 10-15 second exposures, then use Sequator to stack and create 10 minute long frames, which I then convert into a GIF

the noisy frames are ones where it was extremely cloudy and could barely get any visual of the planet
