the sad thing is that 4chan, kiwi farms, everyone in the harassy violent bigoted online spaces have kinda won.

harassment, doxxing and death threats are now the basic modus operandi online against anyone percieved to have done something wrong

I really believe everyone is "selfish", as in you act for your own interest.

The catch is that I believe everyone has their own "values" which dictates what makes your brain happy.

And sometimes, it's things like feeling happy for helping people. I love it, but it's acting in my self-interest

not *too* bad, but a bunch of things that I read that doesn't make sens given what I answered. Like why 100% humanist when I don't think people should bear arms as a default right? :p

I think the term "nazi" is somewhat being overused and this is a bad thing because people tend to be using it more and more for less and less "nazi" things.

I think it's a bad thing because it makes the word loose it's initial meaning over time.

I might need to do some research at some point because everytime I think about anarchy because someone mentions it, I never understand how it could work out.

I'll have to watch a few of their videos but this actually seems like a project I would really get behind. No trying to win, just learning.
trans friends: consider this a refresher. this is a good video. no silly debate tactics, no gaslighting, no gotchas, just two humans coming to understand each other. it's a really good watch.

Well now that framework is getting controversial, I'll need to actually do my own research as to why both targeted persons that are being funded are hated so much. I don't know if DHH is about more than that one article I need to read. No idea about the other tho.

I think some are missing a crucial point in the goal of atproto

Not only does it make it possible to go on your own or someone's PDS, but it also allows anyone who wants to create a completely new social app to do it in an easier way. Like someone could build twitter with monetization with it

When trying to talk to people about an opinion they have, some will directly assume you are against them

I've seen countless amount of "if you're not completely with me, you're against me"

It makes constructive discussion difficult without being seen as an opponent, even if we have the same goal
People just like being mean and if you tell them to maybe introspect a little on that impulse they go straight to spasming in anger about it

I don't think LLMs are conscious (in their current form, they don't even change when talking with them, they don't learn when interacting with the user).

I don't think you should be mean to an LLM, or anything lifeless for that matter. I think it's a habit that can leak to human interactions.

I'm actually curious how "good" hate can be.

You can argue that hate has been a driver for quite a few social and political changes for the better.

You can also argue that it has made the environment of some social media bubbles very negative to be in.

It's relative as always, but I'm curious :p

I really like "everything is relative, but it's not an excuse to do nothing".

First part is my core belief. Second part is there because the first part can often lead to a kind of moral/decision paralysis.
