Not to mention the damage that will have already been done by sealing the brick. If you really hate your brick, consider lime slurry. That is a traditional, English treatment that is frequently done over stone SO IT CAN BREATHE!! It's a timeless treatment and future you will thank you.

And when moisture gets through a crack in the paint, it will collect and begin to degrade the masonry which will then fail. Painting brick is a permanent change; once you do it, you cannot undo it, it's not like wood where you can easily strip it. If you try to strip it, you will cause damage.

I whole heartedly agree! Yes he broke rules and ignored norms, that's what revolutionary means. Every time I step foot into one of his designs it takes my breath away. I have to spend time slowly taking it all in. If you're still and quiet, he tells you everything he wants you to see and experience.
