Hi. I read this with great interest as many parallels to my life. I think the effects of no appropriate schooling extend even further - many mothers are exposed to blaming narratives by school and other professionals whilst seeking support for their children. Large scale survey supports this also.

Schools use barbaric force to deal with distress+overwhelm caused by the school not meeting child's needs. Parents who challenge this practice exposed to parent blame, labelled difficult or silenced.

Paper flawed in many ways. Using Baumrind model to analyse parenting style not useful for autistic people. But even using this model, permissive parenting not found to impact internalising presentations in autistic children. How many parents does this affect? Terrifying.
