South Londoner, exiled to South Manchester (and it's actually not that bad). Special needs mum and Millwall fan. Looking for a credible left wing alternative (and my glasses).
As the parent of a child with CP, this echoes my feelings entirely (with greater eloquence than I could manage!).

Thank you for writing this. My daughter has CP. You're right in saying that whilst I wish my daughter could have the childhood of her typical peers, I know I wouldn't want to change the person I am now, because of everything we've been through together. It's a confusing feeling you explained v well.

I agree. Reddit has been fantastic for planning recent trips to US National Parks.

Which recipe did you use? I tried this one at the weekend but it wasn't perfect. glutenfreecuppatea.co.uk/2017/10/01/g...

That's an amazing picture. Any idea of how I'd get a print? Thank you.

The PIP assessment is already rigorous - they're not waving people through, as some people believe. It involves many, many hoops of fire.

maybe - just maybe! - possible that if we actually had, eg, workplaces that catered to all sorts of brains and ways of working, and weren't needlessly rigid, then people wouldn't feel the desperate need to try and fix themselves so they can function in a society that's so unfriendly to them!

Seriously: Every single person is a taxpayer because everyone pays VAT on goods. And even if they didn’t, they’d still deserve the same services and rights as the rest of the population because that’s what living in a civilised society - and not y’know the Hunger Games - means.

My Mum died in 2000. I don't often cry now but reading your message and the replies about the lovely Mums has set me off. My Mum and I always lit candles in churches we visited on my childhood holidays. She would have loved this. I'd be grateful if you could remember Rosemary Crossley. Thank you

I say that any time anyone ever mentions Oldham. I got blank looks from a Championship football player from Oldham when I quoted it at him. Probably deserved.
