We should try to check in and see what's happening while all of the national attention is on Trump.

I think he will claim victory no matter the outcome. However, the tariffs will stay in place until they start hurting him via an angry donor, or maybe someone bribes him. I have no faith in this man to do what's best for the country.
I think the wrong questions r being asked about the proposed tariffs. The real question Is how little will he accept from Mexico , Canada and China in order to be able to say the threat of tariffs worked ?

Too many of our checks and balances rely on norms, traditions and the honor code.

In Aug. of 2019, the Dow dropped 800 points. The economy was slowing, and economists warned of a possible recession in 2020. because of the trade wars. The pandemic came along and gave him cover by knocking the whole world out of whack. Now, he will pick up where he left off and try again. 😕

The 1st amendment belongs to all of us. If we are allowing neo-nazis to parade around our towns spewing their hate, then everyone absolutely has a right to speak their piece.

In my opinion, Garland was more worried about the integrity of the DoJ. He didn't want to look political.
I'm still angry about the Jan 6th case getting dismissed. Hopefully, Smith's report will lay out everything.

My favorite thing about bluesky is we can disagree about stuff like Garland, but no one is a huge asshole about it. Everyone is super-nice and people make genuine points and ask legit questions. Thanks for that!!
