It IS weird. If, of course, by 'weird' we mean 'of extraordinary character'. Alternatively, bodies, are just, like weird in and of themselves, y'know? (Neither is the sense the asshole meant, I'm sure.)

On the other hand, I think it's also ignoring the ballooning cost of *making* AAA games that didn't exist in those games of yore, and if they're falling prey to the 'every film a blockbuster' mentality of Hollywood. The closest to AAA I've gotten in the last year is Expedition 33.

Wish to god I knew, but I'm guessing this is skewed towards the older end of that cohort. 45 to 64 is a lot of territory, and *I* sure as hell ain't impressed by Cheeto In Charge.

Going to be honest, you're not going to find such a thing. the point of phone options is a Google Cardboard-style solution, which is the usual thing going. You can pick up a used Quest 2 on the cheap.

There's a lot of phone-based options, but I'd genuinely suggest seeing if you can't get a used Quest/2 - not to use Meta's stuff, but you can hook it up to a PC and it's by far the cheapest actual VR headset out there.

I think this is dramatically overestimating how many people only posted to 4chan. A lot of the worst of the lot had actually been banned from there, after all, and many people.... already use multiple websites, you know?

Yep. Some folks have other lucky options - if you have an Irish grandparent, for example, there's Ireland and THAT opens up the entire EU to you - but sadly I come from a family that headed to a patch of Appalachia and stayed there for the next two centuries.

My caution is, make sure you actually have a chance. Most of us don't. If you have any kind of pre-existing medical condition? You probably aren't going to be permitted to immigrate. If you aren't already well-off? Probably not going to be able to immigrate.

"Safety?" No, no place is every totally safe like that. But it's easier to curate one's experience on Bluesky, and it is in the glorious period before someone figures out how to enshittify it.
