Exactly!! every tax hike just fattens the black market. Smokers don’t quit because prices go up, they just switch to cheaper illicit supply. Canberra pretends it’s “public health,” but really it’s a subsidy for gangs and smugglers. Ordinary Aussies lose, organised crime wins.

Simon, the real “nonsense” is pretending sky-high tobacco taxes aren't fuelling the black market. You keep asking how much tax needs cutting wrong question. Your policies created this mess by pricing legal products out and blocking safer alternatives.
