I can't understand the obsession tech bros have over disposable input/output. You get one chance to say input, one chance to hear output (for AI wearables). If that fails, start again.

One of the first things humans did was solve persistent info through literal cave drawings 💀

Pirate Software really damaged the actually valid arguments against SKG. It comes from a good place for consumers, but as game devs the loudest voice on our "side" took a very nuclear approach.

The NHS comparison is laughable. Medicine isn't made generally available before the foundations are regulated.

The Pandora's box approach was because they knew it wouldn't fly, the only way to "secure" it is by placing all chips on it before the law has time to even react.

I've just switched engines entirely, but I might give this a shot. DuckDuckGo definitely has the right layout, but I have noticed it misses a *lot* of websites

I love how Google spends server money to cook the planet to show me lies that make me hate their brand with no way to turn it off.

I really can't think of a solution where everyone wins here.

Let's hope the case goes through before governments retroactively decide stealing is profitable enough to be legal. It's not looking good in the UK 🙁

...in no particular order 👀

Even though they're doing this in self-interest (a few of these studios have used AI themselves), I can't complain if megacorps protecting themselves set a precedent that makes it easier for the little guy.

It's almost like privatising AI slop. Kinda better but still grossly corporate 🤢

...not sure what you're trying here but both these responses look pretty human to me?

Ah, that's good of Cloudflare but in a way it still means you have to buy into specific vendors that give this as a feature
June 6, 2025 at 4:05 PM
Insane that Cloudflare even needs to make a bespoke blocking solution.

I'm glad it exists, but you shouldn't need to buy a product to force AI to respect consent.

The part that feels sour to me is the cut reducing with *more* profit. It's 100% to keep AAA on Steam and push around small devs who don't have a choice cause they'd be missing out on those players.

What'd really work is a tickbox to make an incremental save, or when the pop-up shows it has a blend name field that you can change (just saves over the file as normal if untouched)

I have so many blends where I make a "fork" of sorts to test a GN theory before replacing the old way

This makes for a neat "presentation over realism" challenge too. If the player isn't brushing their hair every time they stop moving, the sim would need to ease back to the default combed layout.

Way easier with cards, but either way it'd be interesting to tackle

Unsurprisingly, they're mainly slop machines at best and outright theft of other devs' work at worst

Give it another few months and we'll have super special edition remastered rerelease with console mods lmao
April 24, 2025 at 6:27 AM
It still uses the original engine for core mechanics, so in a few weeks-months the major mods for original oblivion might get ported over without needing a complete remake

The other factors are why folks won't learn, they know it can be harmful so don't want to engage.

That's fair, but on the flipside there's well-educated people like @ednewtonrex.bsky.social who know the potential and the ethics. Makes for stronger cases to advocate for the right way to use it
April 24, 2025 at 3:09 AM
I'm very anti gen-AI but done a lot of research. I think the take that they aren't useful comes from folks who know its negative tech potential, like disinformation.
