The Cowley Low Traffic Neighbourhoods have saved 30 collisions over 3 years within the LTNs and boundary roads according to latest casualty data, analysed by @cohsat.bsky.social

The Cowley LTNs were implemented in April 2021, after sporadic coronavirus lockdowns between March 2020 and March 2021.

Labour government agrees with Greens (&LibDems) that Labour leader Susan Brown's letter tried to have it both ways was about whether 2026 elections should go ahead or not.

It was obvious Council leadership hoped to fence sit this one, discretely aiming for postponement whilst attempting to wash their hands of any responsibility.

Incredibly their bluff was called… by their own Labour government - but excellent we’ll have actual clarity on the matter by tomorrow.
The Government has told Oxford City Council it thinks its response on postponing elections was unclear – and that “in the absence of a clear request”, Government will assume May elections should proceed. Postponement had been mooted in the light of the upcoming reorganisation of England’s councils.
