Don't know why DuckDuckGo seems to be having issues with searches for Giant Bomb, to the point I needed to add quotes and set it to past day...

But there's something weirdly fitting to finding out what's going on via a SomethingAwful forum post
A screenshot of a SomethingAwful post by The 7th Guest, dated 1 May 2025, which reads: dan ryckert held a stream tonight to go scorched earth on Fandom. in short: - giant bomb is essentially dead - Fandom wanted to convert the site into Guides-only content (this is not the first time a dipshit vulture company tried to convert a game journalism site into a video game guide site) - a Fandom executive once asked Dan if Grand Theft Auto has a large player base - after Voidburger and Jason were fired, the GB crew found out that Fandom was pocketing all of the subscriber money and giving them none of it. so they stopped promoting the premium subs entirely - dan dared Fandom to fire him, and will not show up to meetings tomorrow - some GB crew may stay at Gamespot my idle thoughts - they all followed a new instagram account called Party Mode Games so that is likely where people are going next - Fandom will probably finally kill the GB Wiki and replace it with their lovely Wikia codebase - Fandom will likely convert GB into an AI slophouse, including the guides. Get ready for video game guides that contain AI hallucinations and references to enemies and locations that don't exist

I must say that I have re-evaluated Hugo as a SSG. I made a small blog just in a few hours without cursing that much, which is a surprise since I hate web dev. Will absolutely consider for other projects.

BREAKING: PlayStation has canceled two more live-service games, from subsidiaries Bend and Bluepoint, Bloomberg has learned.

Oh, so somebody wants toxic people to play their games, cool. This looks like something someone would write on the other site. *Sigh* C'mon.
A screenshot from a VGC article about how the Lords of the Fallen publisher won't integrate ‘social or political agencies’ into its games. It writes: "He said: “While some video games have recently taken the opportunity to embed social or political agendas within their experiences, it is clear that many players do not appreciate this, and as a result, we have seen a number of high-profile releases underperforming commercially during the last year alone. “Our games will always be developed to maximise player enjoyment and commercial success, and as such, we will not be integrating any social or political agencies into these experiences going forward having observed the high risk this can present.”"
