combs moss close up, covered in cloud, with the road ahead pressing straight through footpath sign pointing over a drystone wall towards the goyt valley a telegraph pole reused as a gate post, the warning sign is still attached and upside down the temporary spillway at toddbrook reservoir diverting an abnormally large amount of water

I took some GPS devices for a cycle. An example: I stop at the lights then carry on south... Garmin eTrex tracks almost perfectly, Garmin Edge 25 is similar but lower res and ignores the stop, Garmin Vivoactive seems to use momentum and corrects its position at stops, Pixel 6 is off in the housing

Deeibg this was motivation for a hike today - fernilee is indeed also low today - thought it mighr have been an opportunity to test the rumour of "when it's dry you can see the top of the flooded village" but nothing so far
Fernilee reservoirs, dense trees on opposite bank, near bank is steep and sandy showing sediment rings where water levels have been in the past

A northern 150 train idling for the next 28 minutes viewed from the platform floor, which is actually the cancelled train from half an hour earlier because it came in a few minutes late.
