I suspect this group of Dems preferred to cave the whole time (we know Fetterman and King did), but that someone got them to not cave through the election. Now that the election is over, they're happy to do the thing they long wanted to do.

I don't like giving Galloway any air-time, but if you're going to do it, at least flame him like this.

True loser ideology: we can never win because winning means we couldn’t win again.

Didn't read the full report, but I interpret the thread as suggesting something less bleak. The reasons for the polling miss (in the same direction) 3 presidential cycles in a row appear to be different. E.g., he noted "turnout declines in Biden '20 counties in '24."

We have a big squad. Why are we playing so many more kids than all the other teams? Just checked lineups for Arsenal, City, Newcastle, Spurs, and Chelsea, and none of them are doing this.

I defended him on Saturday, but with the League gone, there's no reason why all the starters and most of the bench should be getting today off. Want to rest Szobo and Ekitike and Bradley? Fine. Don't really get the rest of the changes.

In addition to the polling topics being framed in conservative terms, important to note that the timeline of the poll was November to April. Public opinion has shifted left since then.

My interpretation of the pre-Isak summer was more pace on the wings and more creativity in the middle. But Frimpong has barely played, Kerkez hasn't been good, and Wirtz has struggled to adapt (although he's getting better quickly). It just hasn't really worked, though.

I dunno. Things that aren't Slot's fault:

1) A LOT of individual errors at the back (mostly Van Dijk, Konate, and Kerkez).
2) xG weirdness (lucky the first 5 games; unlucky the last 4)
3) Salah's been crap.
4) Impossible to replace Trent without massive changes. He had to do *something*

Thanks for your reporting on this! This is the top issue in the district right now, and our elected leaders have failed to give local resident the accountability we deserve.

I agree with your point on Golden elsewhere in this thread. It's a lean-R district. Golden's gonna have to break ranks at times.

I am just unsure of Yglesias's willingness to *share power* and *develop candidates* on the left, though I will be pleased to be wrong here if you are right.
October 21, 2025 at 6:29 PM
I think he would like for the left to keep voting for Democrats (part of the big tent), but I am not sure about his belief in power-sharing (equal partner) with the left 1/2 of the party.

I'm not sure Yglesias agrees with you about recruiting more widely *across* the ideological spectrum. He'll consent that Mamdani is good (maybe? has he?), but he'd have preferred a moderate in *every* seat. Could be wrong, but that's what I take from his writing.

It's a personalist party and the person in question thinks Blacks, Gays, women, Jews, Muslims, the poor, immigrants, Asians, Africans, etc. are all less than. And he says so openly! Why wouldn't the people getting involved (aspire to) emulate him?

Yes, you should be surprised and horrified by secret federal police running around our city kidnapping immigrants, crashing cars, launching chemical weapons and shooting and killing people. This is a thing you should be *perpetually* shocked by. We lose when we become numb to it.
