I spent most of August finalizing projects for the sound art chapter of my new #solarpower art tutorials book. This is an optical sequencer - basically a light based drum machine. (Being published by Make, expected sometime in 2026)

In Trump 1, my go-to mantra was the Brecht quote "As crimes pile up they become invisible." For Trump 2, this Adorno quote about Brecht is a strong contender

I made this functioning solar panel mosaic in 2017 and barely exhibited it, so I'm particularly happy for it to be in this year's Solar Biennale at Mudac.

Every time I return to it my feelings about it change. Unfortunately, it feels more relevant than ever.

Guest lecturing at Wash U today!

Every semester I require my undergrad art and design students to make their own manifesto. Zoe Leonard's piece is one of my favorite examples. It felt particularly important bringing this into the classroom today, especially as a contrast to Apple's 'Heres to the Crazy Ones' ad.
