Yes please! I am doing work on academization and one argument in that framework is that people with higher degrees move towards urban areas to be among those with similar cultural background. It is of course dependent on income but there are some studies that point towards it beeing also a factor.

This is really interesting work. Given you are using occupational information: do you have information on academic/non-academic background? It probably correlates strongly but would be interesting to see the changes here over time.
