It was not a "Cathedral Pro", which is infinitely superior to a "Cathedral" and even more than a "Pro-Cathedral".

And Dublin will definitely never get a Cathedral Pro Max

Yeah it's really infuriating. Constantly second guessing yourself. I had to be super mindful to fact check stuff before, and now even just a simple picture like this you need to think carefully about (or waste more electricity getting some Web app to tell you if it's likely real or not) 🤦

Funnily this was my first thought, there was something that just looked off about it.

@aidanobrien.bsky.social what think you?

My cereal was a bit soupy this morning. Too much soy milk, not enough cereal. Just when you thought you knew it all, life finds a way to give you a new lesson 🙃

Ah that old chestnut. Yeah, I always had a feeling that I sort of missed the 'golden age' of Soundcloud from the POV of discovery, connection, social interaction.

I think I had heard about them being sold/bought or whatever it was. It's always sad to see these platforms inevitably go that way.

That doesn't exactly feel like support of independent artists..

It's also exceedingly weird that major labels can distribute their material to Soundcloud, so a Soundcloud pro consumer can play, for example, Aretha Franklin, but independents like me with digital distribution cannot distribute to Soundcloud - we'd have to pay to be on Soundcloud.

And then also found their fee is per artist name, so if you run a small label like me you'd have to pay multiple times over, so that's out (between my Pattern Zero and Supple 9 stuff I'm releasing under at least 5 different aliases 😂)

I was curious about Soundcloud recently, thinking that if they now include distro to streaming platforms it might make more sense to distro through them. But then found they don't distro to Beatport/Juno/Traxsource (key electronic places).
