Intense anti-government protests in #Abkhazia today have led to an interesting situation: there were reports that the President, Aslan Bzhania, had resigned. These appear to have been false, but he’s missed an opposition deadline to resign. Meanwhile, they’ve thrown a plaque on his office in the bin

After Stalin deported them, the Crimean Tatars managed to return to their homeland in the late 1980s, only for it to be stollen by Ru in 2014.
They’re a minority both in Ru and in Ukraine, but they strongly prefer to live in Ukraine. Says loud and clear which country treats minorities better.
