I saw a goldfinch today, battling and dancing in the gale. And thought of this gorgeous goldfinch poem in Isabel Bermudez’s ‘Bar de las Reminiscenzias.’

Poetry pamphlets are great!
Clare Best’s ‘End of Season’ (Frogmore Press), dual language English and Italian, also a song cycle, is a current favourite. Delicately detailed landscapes and vignettes carry a moving emotional arc. And Maria Isakova-Bennett’s cover image holds the poems beautifully.
