Quite fascinated by the stark divide on purity tests among NDP supporters - I expect this will be litigated at the first NDP debate this week!

And that's something Canadians are united in as far away as Vancouver Island and the Northwest Territories!

The message is clear: the Jays are Canada's team, and even without a World Series trophy, they're champions in our hearts.

In fact, the Jays are going to have more support than ever next season - 27% of survey respondents so far say they weren't Blue Jays fans before their recent success but have become Blue Jays fans now. That's over 10 million Canadians!

They also said they would be back next season to support the team and they still #WANTITALL

From coast, to coast, to coast and in both official languages, Canadians told me about the joy the Blue Jays have brought into their lives this fall.

In this modern age of toxic social media, I expected some frustration as raw emotions took over, but that's not who Canadians are.

Respondents had a message they almost unanimously wanted to send to the Blue Jays: they did the nation proud. 🍁

Finally, Tony Wakeham's win tonight gives him as many wins as a leader in provincial campaigns as he had wins as a player and coach combined in his college basketball career at Memorial.

(He's had success elsewhere - he's in the Newfoundland Basketball Hall of Fame)

The NDP reached their goal of party status with 2 seats, but did so by focusing on local campaigns and didn't see growth outside St. John's.

Jordan Brown's switch to municipal politics will make it hard for the NDP to convince voters they're more than a St. John's party

I feel like we should be talking about this outrageous result in one Labrador riding.

Lela Evans crossed the floor 3 times after the last election (PC -> IND -> NDP -> PC) and clearly her constituents felt she represented all of them given the ludicrous 92.5% margin of victory.

This was truly a close election. 11 ridings were won by a margin of less than 10%. The PCs won 8 of these, the Liberals 2 and the NDP 1.

Winning a lot of close ridings can often be an indicator that one party was targeting their resources better in the final days.
