Both Robyn and Ellie Goulding dropped new music yesterday...and strangely enough, I listened to these two artists a lot back when I was coming out as bi at 17.

As a former full-time freelance writer who recently got a day job, I will say… I actually really enjoy it. It’s nice having somewhere to be every day, and a sense of structure and purpose.

Some might think it’s weird how I can dig up info on people so quickly (remember, I’m a journalist) but I will say, it’s come in handy because I’ve returned so many missing wallets and phones to their owners…

Did no one get screeners for All's Fair? The show premieres in two days and I haven't seen any reviews.

This Uber driver just surreptitiously farted, then slightly cracked open the window while I was looking at my phone in hopes that I wouldn’t notice

The embargo for I Love LA is up, so I’m here to tell you that this show is soooooooo fucking funny. Very much speaks to the uncertainty and tumultuousness of working in the industry.

There’s a cameo I’m forbidden to tell you about but when you get there, you’ll be on the floor.

One thing I’m loving about the Substack era we’re experiencing is seeing my journalism colleagues’ writing talents outside of the context of journalistic writing. Like, I genuinely love reading y’all’s poems, short stories, and personal essays.

Does anyone think that I should just delete this one and stick to making an account for creative endeavors or instead? I feel I need as luck help doing that.

So, far still $20 out of $300

Thank you to everyone who’s checked in on me. I’m recovering well, but unfortunately, this little emergency is going to take a big toll on my finances.

🚨Currently raising $700 so I don’t fall behind on rent and other necessities 🚨

Was not anticipating spending my entire Saturday in the ER, but I’m very grateful to finally have gotten a cyst on my back drained. Can’t wait to give everyone hugs once this is fully scarred over. Thank you to the team at Baylor for making this happen!

My Latina mom this morning: Jiiii! Why didn’t you tell me you were having a cyst lanced??

Also my Latina mom circa 2019: Oh by the way, your dad had a heart attack a month ago, we’re sorry we didn’t tell you, we just didn’t want to worry you.

Imogen Heap dropped new music but I see it was produced with AI. Literally, why? She’s one of the most innovative artists and producers of all time. Using AI is beneath her.

Kristen Bell & Dax Sheppard and Hailey & Justin Bieber are lowkey they same couples, in that every six months, they subtly let us know — unprovoked — that they hate being married to each other

Rest in peace, D'Angelo. Your neo-soul vocals and grooves pioneered a whole new wave in the R&B landscape. Thank you for your craft and your impact. Music would not be the same without you.

Folded by Kehlani is the defining song of 2025.

Got everyone and their mama doing remixes in a way we haven’t seen since Marvin’s Room in the 2010s blog era.

Also shows that you can use your platform for activism and STILL reach new heights of success.
