Progressive Millennial Mom ✌🏼 Professional Baby Whisperer 🍼 Advocate 💙 Military Spouse 🇺🇸 West Texas 🌵
Motherhood is heavy today in West Texas. After I tucked my nearly 8-year-old daughter into bed, I read a headline announcing the death of an 8-year-old little girl less than 200 miles from us. She should still be alive. Please vaccinate your children. 💔

Senator Cory Booker:
“I don’t understand how a nation could allow a president to be so cruel, that he will take away healthcare from people struggling with children that are facing the worst of health challenges……”

Wisconsin & Florida: Toss some packaged snacks and anything a child might consider a toy in your bag. See a kid? Be silly, roll a ball to them, pass crayons and paper up the line. Offer a snack to hungry people. Pack sunscreen, a fan, a small blanket, a portable charger, etc.

This is mutual aid.

WATCH: Black people are at higher risk for many pregnancy complications, including being twice as likely as their white counterparts to have a stillbirth.

To open up the conversation, maternal health advocate and doula Kanika Harris is training a new generation of Black birth workers.
How Stillbirth Fits in the Conversation About Black Maternal Health
“I think in the movement about Black maternal health, you don’t have a lot of conversations about stillbirth,” said Kanika Harris. She’s a maternal health ad...

As more Texas school boards approve state-created Christian Nationalist curriculum, don’t give districts a pass because there’s a financial incentive attached. Yes, public schools are underfunded, but there are other State Board of Education approved curricula that come with financial incentives.

Texas kids deserve strong public schools—not a broken voucher scam.

📢 Vouchers = Higher Taxes + Weaker Schools

It’s not a flashy, grand act of resistance but I host a community playgroup every week and bringing people together in a free space feels pretty revolutionary lately.

Texas Parents: Has your local school board voted on the Bluebonnet Learning Curriculum? Are you paying attention so they can’t do it when you’re not looking?

#TexasBluebonnet Learning Curriculum:

📚 Bible-based and religiously biased curriculum for PUBLIC schools.
📚 Created by Texas Education Agency (TEA) and endorsed by the TX State Board of Ed.
📚 Financial Incentive for districts that use it.
📚Widely criticized by religious scholars and educators.

#Texas people that value #publiceducation! You NEED to know what the problematic Texas Bluebonnet Learning curriculum is so you can keep it out of your local schools.

School boards are #voting on this - Don’t let it happen under your nose!

#TexasParents: Please hear me when I say Texas Bluebonnet is NOT just a few Bible verses in public school curriculum. Religious bias and Christian Nationalism is woven throughout the entire RLA K-5 curriculum. You cannot just opt for an alt lesson on days with religion. You need to FIGHT THIS.

Where are my fellow #Texas millennial moms fighting to keep Texas Bluebonnet OUT of our public schools? 🚫 #ChristianNationalism 🚫

In case you were wondering how the #measles outbreak is going, West Texas moms want to expose their kids on purpose so the antibodies can protect them from cancer.

The next time someone says you should just leave your red state, tell them a wise man once said “The fight is here. I need ammunition, not a ride.” ✌🏼

The thing about blue dots in red states is we’re not just getting hammered with the same mess as the rest of the country. We’ve got our own special state/local mess too.

Please stop wishing us harm.
