Conclusion of my brisk, rainy and windy walk? I am really happy that the city is building out more bike lanes and the city can do so much better than what they're currently doing.

And one other thing I hadn't considered, if a person swings their door all the way out, they can potentially cause someone biking in the lane to crash.

Because portions of the bike lane are lower than the street, debris gets swept in there by the rain and people treat the bike lane like its the street. They'll dump trash or leave their trash cans in the bike lanes.

The raised bus platforms are excellent but not entirely accessible. All bus platforms are not accessible from the sidewalk, some intersections have curb cuts going into traffic not the crosswalk, others have lamps in the middle of the platforms.

Portions of the bike lane are raised, level with the sidewalk. As a result there is little trash, debris or flooding in these sections. When the section is lowered to the street, notice how there are issues with flooding/water pooling.

I walked up & down 14th St., from the Lake to Broadway snapping pictures of the bike lanes being built. We have issues with bus stop accessibility and flooding but lets start with what's being done well!

Stopped at this intersection again because the flooding was the worst here, looks like the water is supposed to drain into the bike lane?

First day of heavy rain and all along the newly constructed bike lanes on 14th you'll see them flooded and full of trash 😬

No Kings protest was so large in Oakland, CA, I had time to stop at my favorite lunch spot that was along the route and continue on with other protesters.

Update: Staff has pulled this item from the calendar tomorrow along with support of AC Transit Board President. What is not clear is if AC Transit staff has pulled the application for the grant. I'm still waiting on that news.

You ever take a close look at bus stop "improvements"? Raised platforms. One tiny metal bench on one side, no benches on the other, and no shelter from the elements. Its almost insulting.

My favorite fun fact about Union Square in SF is that Macy's has a wine bar overlooking the square

I had no idea the Yoda statue existed until this morning tbh, I went to chill by the Palace of Fine Arts and google maps alerted me of the Yoda statue. So I trekked over. Lovely walk. 10/10 glad I went to explore!
