Generally it is understood that Voyager is the last Real Star Trek series, and even it has the beginnings of the franchise's degeneration into what it is now

Next Generation with the understanding that the first season is, of course, not great and unrepresentative of the rest of the series. Deep Space Nine is arguably the best of them, though (and since you liked Babylon 5, especially so). Its pilot is also bad tho lol.
