The depth between the Keyner et al. Single-A group and Birdsong is just so lacking, hard to risk it. I’m also a bit encouraged by him having two major injuries (so maybe just bad luck) instead of a bunch of nagging ones

I think any of Bednar, Miles, Crawford, Furman, and maybe Maldonado wouldn’t surprise me. Agree that Bednar is the best of those, I’d probably protect him, Miles, and (depending on what the new surgery is) Crawford

if i had more time/had thought of it sooner, the game 162 bsb would have completely ignored the playoff races and instead investigated whether shane smith (chw vs wsh) would have had the least-noticed perfect game in history, with a full recounting of all other perfect games for comparison
