It says a lot that the shock value of this is so limited. We expect this kind of behaviour from him

MAdA - Make America democratic Again!

Democratic with all the checks and balances to keep a tyrannical president in line as intended by the framers

I know, it's only AI, but I keep going there ...

Lots of concerns over escalation and the lives being lost on both sides, but how do you deal with bullies, autocrats, tyrants? You can't just give in for "peace".

Well there you go, I didn't know that

I think there's a case for a United States of Europe, an idea that's hated by those who want to divide and rule in order to preserve existing power.

You know, if Brexit was good for Britain, why not for any state in USA to "take back control"?

or is this AI image manipulation?

Parties are the problem that the framers of the American Constitution failed to stop:

Who thought that in the 21st century, with all the advances of human intelligence and civilisation we'd still be fighting wars?

But today AI is in development for

• Autonomous weapons
• Decision support
• Cyber warfare
• Intelligence gathering & analysis
• Training & simulation

Intelligence?

If there's no moral equivalency between the actions of Hamas and those of the IDF, then presumably Netanyahu believes Israel has the high moral ground.

But its usually the criminals who refuse to recognise courts or face up to justice. Attacking a court is the action of the guilty.

I'm not sure there are many who belong to a political party who can truly represent the voters. In the UK party whips tell MPs how to vote. Going against the whip means you lose your place in the "gang". Framers of US constitution attempted, but failed to prevent parties forming

Many countries still have the semblance of a functioning democracy, but these are being taken over by those who spend the most on buying influence and manipulating the debates and the way we vote. The best of us doubt and despair, the worst offer false narratives & false hope

To pardon those who orchestrated violent seditious conspiracies is a bit of a slippery slope - insane even

Everybody wants to be a "cat"

We need to distinguish between the baby and the bathwater.

Consider this: we could live with moral capitalism.

The problem is the deregulated, monopolistic, predatory, abusive, corrupt capitalists who use their wealth and influence to buy our politicians and destroy democracy.

There are lessons to be learned: space flight is dangerous

No fatalities on this mission but the stats aren't great

24 people have orbited the moon, 12 of them landed

273 people have visited the ISS

There have been 18 deaths among the 676 people on a space mission. That's over 2.5%

What are Trump's plans for Federal spending?
January 9, 2025 at 10:15 AM
"Ordinary World" by Duran Duran is about relationship break up, but it reminds me that "ordinary" can be vastly under-rated, it can be exceptional, desirable

There's many would swap "interesting times" for mundane and ordinary

Yeah, but "opposition" is not the way to think about building an alternative coz "what we think about, comes about". Only thinking about opposing Trump, got Trump. It's "obstacle fixation". (The golfer hits the green by focusing on the green, but goes in the water by THINKING about avoiding water)

2024: The Year From Space
www.channel4.com/programmes/2...

The Earth is unique

When you look out into the depths of space you realise just the vast ocean of darkness and we're on this little island and we're on it together and we need to figure out how to work together for the benefit of everybody

Banned? Well, no, not really, but I get the point. Nobody should be offended at Christmas good wishes. Atheists, like myself, included.

If the intention is simply goodwill, then why would anyone take offence?
