Warming centres are closed to new admissions but people are still getting support and transfers to shelters.

I understand there is currently space at the BLC, which is accessible by walk-in, at 129 Peter St, or by calling 1-877-338-3398.

We will continue to monitor.

But, I recognize concerns even with this update, especially on days with snowfall or cold rain.

I will be asking of a review of the warming centre policy in the new year, and for the additional opening hours to be accounted for in the 2025 Budget.

The Warming Centre at Metro Hall (55 John St.) will open at 5pm today.

24-hour winter respite services are also open at the Better Living Centre (195 Princes’ Blvd) and can be accessed by walk-in or calling 1-877-338-3398.
