"You mean Obama could have just closed gitmo and ended ICE by executive order instead of bombing weddings? He could have just ordered universal healthcare via a memo? Biden could also have done it, instead of committing genocide? Damn."

Upper middle class people always think this will happen to others, to foreigners, to immigrants, to communists, to gays. But soon they learn the meaning of the saying: "when the trains come, you will come with us".

Dude, have some respect for Mr. Zelensky. He may have been a TV comedian years ago but the guy knows how to preside over a country at war.
The other one is a nepobaby and reality show celebrity, that's different.

"People don't want to work anymore".

There is no shortage of workers, there is a shortage of good salaries and an excess of greedy cheap assholes.

Tremendo. Leí a esa mujer durante años, cuando EE era gratis y tenía tiempo para leerme todas las columnas de Opinión; casi siente uno que es alguien que conoció en persona.

So, how long until American corporations decide to treat climate and health facts like China treats Tiananmen?

It doesn't look like there is a lot of "freedom" from the government on this side of the Pacific either.

The adage I live by is to buy the cheap thing at first and when it breaks get the expensive version.
If you use the cheap one enough to break down, you'll get the value from the expensive version. Has served me well with keyboards, headphones, kitchen appliances, etc.

Well, Guantanamo was a monument to nationalism, cruelty and injustice during both Obama and Biden, the war on drugs is still a war on dark skin people only and the Genocide in Palestine got even worse during Biden.

At least for us outside, the US doesn't seem to change a lot no matter who wins.

Menos mal que en el resto de Colombia, donde la gente es más blanca y cercana a la civilización y el frío, el machismo está bajo control.

Defending? You have Reagan in your pic, dude. Read about the School of the Americas before talking about dictatorships.

I don't think people are buying the "who owns your data argument" the rise of #RedNote during the #TikTok ban, MGM just agreed to pay $45M for their data leak of consumers data... the list goes on and on with American companies doing bad things with our data. People are going to need other reasons

Your whatabaoutism is proving my point: they are not that different.

The Uyghur and Palestinian genocides are perpetrated as we speak and neither government gives a shit about what the UN says.

Yes, China commits human rights violations and they shouldn't have our data... but the US committed dozens of massacres like Tiannamen's in our lifetimes. Almost a 1 M Iraqis and let's not forget that today, in 2035, Guantanamo is still open.

The second largest mass murder since 1945 was the invasion of Iraq, genius. Almost half a million civilians were killed by American soldiers and this happened in our lifetimes.

Guantanamo is still open, for fuck's sake. Democrats chose not to close it as recently as 2 weeks ago.

Unlike American companies, who have not used personal data to manipulate or misinform voters and are not so obedient to an aspiring dictator to the point that they accepted to change the name of the Gulf of Mexico in just 7 days.
