I turn to the door, but Sandra blocks me. The horrible bitch. She knew exactly where I was going, and she knew everyone else would be here too. I should’ve known. I would have realised if she hadn’t been distracting me the whole time. “Go on,” she says, nudging me forward. “I’ll be right beside you.” “I’m not making a fucking announcement.” I stride into the canteen, heading straight for the food cupboard. I snatch out a packet, not even checking what it is, and try to leave. Before I can go anywhere, I hear my own voice cutting through the awkward silence. “Hello everyone. Our captain has an announcement to make.” I whip around and glare icy daggers at Sandra, wondering if anyone would care enough to stop me if I just walked over and strangled her.
