i’m not referring to his punishment or his mental health! i’m pointing to a shift in the show’s interpretive framework for his character. i’m hoping it’s a set up for season 3, like you said, but i don’t have much hope.

i’m not talking about his narrative limitations. that’s not the issue. my concern is the broader recalibration of his characterization: the heightened impulsivity, the emotional volatility, and the reliance on superficial quirks. that’s what feels diminished, not the punishment itself.

i get that, and it’s true he didn’t get much space in s1, but for me the problem isn’t his flaws, it’s how the show is handling them. it doesn’t feel like intentional development so much as a shift the writing isn’t really supporting. i’d love to see growth, i just wish the setup were stronger :/

honestly, that’s exactly where i’m at. the show is visually strong and entertaining on the surface, but the moment you start engaging with the underlying writing, the cracks become hard to ignore. and episode 5 definitely highlights that issue.

i get that, and there is room for interesting exploration with his trauma, but the writing isn’t handling it with that level of nuance. it just reads as sloppy characterization rather than intentional depth.
