Don’t forget increased stress and lack of access to safe places to exercise, relax, and play outside. And then there’s non-walkable cities, lack of time off from work, depressed wages, lack of preventative care… oh, and for-profit health care! AKA, living in the U.S.

No, the vast majority of states do not require this and do just fine. It’s just an extra step that throws out more ballots.

To be fair, they only serve on the way back, and it’s a limit of two. Well, at least that’s how it was a few years back. Also, they’re considered off the clock while traveling, iirc.
