Arctic disasters can make mitigation difficult. Though wildfires above the Arctic Circle are often localized, oil spills and radiation leaks from nuclear powered vessels/rigs run over political boundaries and are engaged by the Arctic Council's Emergency Prevention, Preparedness and Response group.

For those coming to the free root cellar/produce storage, greenhouse energy, and accessible growing areas workshops in Ester, Alaska (Sun 3-8pm)-the workshops are on and won't interfere with the wildfire fighting. Will monitor the Parks Highway to make sure Nenana's Monday workshops are still on.

With building season starting up, questions start to pop up as to insulation effectiveness as shown in R-values. With many options available at any one big box store, insulation ease should be considered along with price. Yet the effectiveness to retain heat is probably paramount in most minds.....
