This would counter any allegations that Utah partisans might make against the judge, that she was trying to prevent an appeal by issuing the ruling at the last minute.

2. Another of the legislature’s expert witnesses, Dr. Barber, had devised a map ostensibly using Prop 4 criteria, but “by design” did not treat Salt Lake County as a county for purposes of minimizing county splits. This made the Map C splits come across as reasonable rather than undue.

The decision also came down during the last half hour of the day by which the lieutenant governor’s office said a map must be finalized for the 2026 elections, which if truly inflexible leaves no time for an appeal to alter the boundaries any further for 2026.

If you look at the congressional districts for which registered voter information is available, of the 100 districts that had the lowest turnout of registered voters in 2024, 70 of them were districts with more registered Democrats than registered Republicans.

Any little thing is worth it. I had a mole on my face that looked a little funky. I ignored it for a year or two and finally went in. Luckily just basal cell carcinoma but left unchecked it can be....not good. Glad you were smart. Everyone, do self checks and go in if things seem a little off.

Since male breast cancer is a real thing but not widely talked about, it’s good to recognize abnormalities and get an exam so problems can be caught and treated—or ruled out and peace of mind restored.
