Some universities are closing departments left, right, and center. My university still has departments you’ve never even heard of!

Well, that’s an annoyingly good example of poor human factors design.

I was trying to make delicious bread, not a cinnamon raisin whole wheat candle!

This quote captures the most frustrating part to me. There are tremendously important lessons to be learned from this ongoing pandemic and the question of where the virus originated just fundamentally isn’t one of them. It’s taken up so much oxygen that could have been dedicated to useful inquiry.

That feeling when it took way too long to get your sourdough in the oven, so you accidentally made unsweetened cake instead of bread. #BreadSky

I don’t know what the risk manager knew when they said this. Maybe they were lied to. Maybe they didn’t dig deeply enough. Maybe they were covering it up. But the profession needs a code of ethics based on serving patients, not organizations’ reputations: journalofethics.ama-assn.org/article/what...

Unboxing day for @profgoldberg.bsky.social’s excellent book tackling the public health impacts of American football—and why nothing serious has been done to protect the children and workers (pro football players) who are being harmed.

A cool thing about my job is that I got the chance to read this excellent book while it was still in production and offer a blurb recommending it to all of you. Here it is… now go order the book!

Repost with a tweet you still think about

(The book title x3 + “by Sandra Boynton” officially replaced the original lyrics for me as soon as I saw this.)

Well, the world’s a fractal dumpster fire all the way down, but at least I’m finally figuring out how to make 100% whole wheat sourdough. 🤷🏻‍♂️ 🥖

Unacceptable.
Failing to offer everyone updated protection against
#LongCOVID & PASC (not to mention acute COVID) would be blatant public health malpractice.
