I'm old and well travelled having lived in Australia, UK, Germany, Canada and now the US. I lived 42 years in the American South before finally deciding a couple of years ago to settle in the Pacific NW which I like a lot. I grew up in Adelaide.
We finally get to ride the northern Lightrail (LINK) extension to Pioneer Square this time. It’s going to take some 30 minutes.

A photo taken on the Little Bear Trail near Chelan.  We decided to stop here before heading back to Seattle yesterday and we managed to get in a good walk as well as take some photos of wildflowers.

Here we are in [Winthrop](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winthrop,_Washington) on the Eastern edge of the Northern Cascades just a little over two week since returning from Japan. I need to write some entries about that trip before too long!

As usual low tides are always good for patterns.

Beach reflections at low tide here on a sunny Edmonds afternoon.

A protest of a few hundred people happened in Edmonds yesterday. A lot of this sort of thing happening around the country at the moment.

And more color appearing on the landscape.

I’m finally getting to see some hints of spring around here. Walking along the Edmonds shoreline yesterday I came across these.

Down at the shoreline in Edmonds on a very cold day.

Rookie mistake. I started taking photos with my Nikon camera only to have a message coming up on the screen telling me that I didn’t have a memory card installed. So here’s a photo taken earlier today from my iPhone.

A couple of photos from late afternoon today as the sun was setting here in Edmonds. I also appreciate low tide days since it’s an opportunity for some beachcombing.

I got down to Richmond Beach this afternoon just as the sun was setting. Nothing like the golden hour for good light.

I did get out to take some photos today in 40F weather shortly before the sun set here at Edmonds Marina.
January 19, 2025 at 2:09 AM
I went for a walk along the Marina here in Edmonds this afternoon but the slight breeze made it so uncomfortably cold that I decided to truncate my outing. Here’s a picture however, before I headed back to the car.
