An amazing view this morning across to the #Dolomites from #TopStar #Obergurgl #Austria.

Very poignant to see these buildings in #Obergurgl, a busy, buzzy ski resort right on the Italian border with #Austria. They were built by the Nazis in 1938 as customs stations. It’s hard to think what life was like in this lovely village during the war.

Just finished @SayeedaWarsi brilliant, readable book. As she says, “Britain can and should be a comfortably multi-religious and tolerant society”. I never thought when I marched against the NF in the ‘70s that we’d be so hostile 50 years later. #timeforchange.

Burmese #cats are particularly fussy. Mischa doesn’t like any old espresso, the settings have to be exactly right for his taste.

Yesterday we lost our kale to frost. Today this happened. #climatechange is very scary.

We had a tour of #Colchester’s iconic, but crumbling water tower. A wonderful building and a piece of social history. “Jumbo” supplied water for Colchester for 100 years from the 1880s. 🤞for the NHLF bid to restore it for community use.

In November 2022 I spoke at Buckingham Palace with Jonathan Dimbleby and Jon Snow. We celebrated the work of my dad, Director of the Uganda Resettlement Board, and commemorated the 50th anniversary of the arrival of 27,000 expellees from Uganda. Many have made a fantastic contribution to the U.K.

No Mischa, I don’t believe that you’re now vegetarian and want to help with the cooking. #catsofBluesky.

A fallen and twisted tree seen in Hastings. I’ve never seen the like!

Time to cut down the asparagus fronds on the #allotment, but they do look rather glorious. #autumn

It’s hard cooking with a Burmese #cat in the house. They keep checking up on whether the chicken in the oven is done to their satisfaction.

When you’ve cleared the #allotment nasturtiums into the compost bin but they won’t give up. Joys of #autumn.

Reflecting back from a dark November afternoon to a wonderful week on #isleofMull in June. It’s a wonderful place!
