Today in being a Doctor Mom: taking a meeting on tissue and transfusion quality metrics at my favorite local coffee shop while baby sleeps in a carrier. Wish every work meeting were this nice.

I recently made an apple pie with green apples from our backyard tree, while watching Great British Bake Off, and it was so seasonal and lovely.

Also made crust for three more pies and froze it, so it's available for the next ones!

We were there! This was my favorite sign.

Do you have a ride-or-die favorite? Mine is Stila's In the Light. I fell in love with gold and bronze shadows with this palette, and I've never gone back.

Wanting a pretty ring is so valid!

I told my husband to ask my mom for a family/inherited diamond (which I knew was available) and then he had his uncle who is a jeweler make it into a new ring with my birthstone and personal touches. I adore it.

My father told me that all babies look like Winston Churchill, but my baby looks particularly like Winston Churchill.

This is my 38 year old beloved stuffie! His name is Best Bear. He looks a bit better than he used to because last year as a gift my mother and husband conspired to send him to a teddy bear hospital. He got new stuffing and a good cleaning, as well as fixing up his nose that had been worn down.

It’s a beast! Did my best with the screenshots.

We decided not to post his face on the Internet, but this baby basically looks like Winston Churchill

Haha I have no idea! He’s a woodworker so he makes all sorts of things for me out of wood.

The most impressive thing he’s made recently was a mahogany built-in bar with a curved front, marble counter, eight drawers, and a paneled wine fridge. Took almost six months!

Treasuring every day with this little love. So excited to be his mama forever.

Hallo from my little potato to yours!

I live too far to see them, so I posit this antidote to toxic masculinity: @theogordon.bsky.social wearing our baby in a wrap, while making homemade sushi for dinner, on a cutting board that he made from scratch.

Okay, so I am also very excited to announce that our baby boy is finally here! We are all happy and healthy, now at home as a family of three.

And also, that sushi and champagne was incredibly delicious.

I am extremely excited to announce… that I got to have sushi and champagne for dinner tonight!

Very normal! I learned at least as much in my first six months as an attending as I did in any given six months of residency. Ask your colleagues for help and advice!

I rotated at CHLA where a lot of celebrities visit. Walking down a long hall towards some guy flanked by men in suits. As we got closer I realized I was looking up and up and up at him… it was Pau Gasol who was on the Lakers at the time. I told him I had a dog named after him, which was true.

As a patient myself today, I’m thinking of all those who will lose their healthcare with this bill. Of the decreased access, increased crowding, and life changing costs. It’s shameful. I’m so sad and frustrated. This will reverberate in both expected and unexpected ways.

Worked my last shift, officially on maternity leave, and back at one of my favorite places in the whole world. My hands and feet are so swollen, but life is so good.

They’ve decorated the break room already and I’m just so touched. I don’t think they even knew that green leaves and gold was our wedding theme…

Incredibly sweet when the ED nurses/techs want to throw you a baby shower, even when you object that you absolutely don’t need presents from them, and they bully you into allowing them to celebrate you anyways. I get a staff potluck on Friday!

I get to sit in the special seats on BART!
