I think the point of the article I linked is that workers are worried about health and money and politicians actually aren’t helping with those issues but are using them to prop up a dying industry
I would never argue impoverishing people is a good outcome

I do think they’re describing a real issue but agree a different example not about a union would have been more persuasive & this was an odd choice
