Wouldn't it be more cost effect for the government to just say hey if you are here illegally, please register with an immigration office and we will try to expedite your visa. You can still work and will pay taxes and then limit border crossings? Like incentivize instead of punish.

Met Val Kilmer in Boston while he was filming Spartan. Random meeting, drank whiskey with him and 3 other people he didn't know in a small hotel bar booth till 2 am. He was gracious, interesting AF, kind and humble. Thanks for the memory Val, I hope you are living it up in the next dimension.

Hurricane Helene devastated western NC - we are still recovering, and will be for years to come. Because we knew it was coming, schools and many businesses were closed, leaving roads clear so rescuers could do their jobs. Imagine how many more lives would have been lost without prior warning.
Losing NOAA would be devastating. Project 2025 authors want to get rid of it because it monitors climate change, and privatize the information it currently provides for free, so you'll have to buy information about the weather and the winds (imperative for mariners).
