After twelve hours of work, the core gameplay loop for my ugly prototype is complete. Yay!

Gonna grab some food, then figure out how to make it less ugly.

Finally figured out what was going on with my ugly prototype -- just a couple of infinite while loops. No big deal.

But I have the bare bones of a prototype. Just have to add a bit of UI and figure out how to check when there are no more moves.

Such fun.

So while I did figure out the problem with my original approach for the graph (user error), I went with a different one so that I could align points to a grid. The animation was a happy accident, but it looks cool, so I'm keeping it.

And we have another prototype.

Play as many words as you can to gain points before clearing the board. But each time you clear the board, you get to choose a relic to apply multipliers to your future plays.

Honestly, I might just keep this one for myself.

I had a late start and it still needs some tweaks, but it was a lot easier to code than I expected. Now to figure out how to update it daily...

I still have some work to do on this, but switching the focus was definitely the way to go.

Now you can just try out new combinations and build your collection, or and see how many of the colors you unlock from the cabinet (store? I dunno yet) as you go.

I think I have another failed prototype on my hands. Sigh.

But I did learn some things and figured out how to streamline some stuff. And I got to play around with shaders. So that's cool.

Plus, it's cute, which makes me happy.

Made myself a little tool for my game. It's using a shader that I made last night, and after a bunch of shenanigans, I get the hex code of the mixed colors.

It took me a bit to figure out, but the fact that I managed to do it is what I love about programming.

Implemented some basic customization for my weird little Solitaire game, and I'm very chuffed about it.

Somehow, being able to choose between different color schemes makes it feel like a real Solitaire game to me...?

I don't know, but I like it.
