Today is our Gotcha Day 1st anniversary with our rescue dog, Snoopy! One year ago he came to us too skinny and very stressed. Tonight he’s asleep with my daughter - the best of friends. I never thought I was a dog person until I became a first-time dog mom!

We’ve been watching Wolf Hall, a fascinating study of how the fragile male ego of a fickle, greedy despot creates a culture of deep cruelty and mistrust, where everyone lives in fear of saying the wrong thing. Thank goodness we’ve moved on from those times.

I finally read GIRL WITH THE LOUDING VOICE by Abi Daré & wow, so amazing. The main character, Adunni, has become one of my favorite literary characters because of her persistence, curiosity & kindness in the face of so much hardship. Looking forward to reading book 2 soon!

I’m done adulting today. I got dental work done (an upgrade over watching any news coverage of he who won’t be named), had a work snafu that required 2 hours of work on a day off, & an early a.m. (v. early) unexpected wake up call means that I’m extra thankful for reading time with my sweet dog!
