While I'm pretty tired of the Trib's tendency to take everything that happens in Utah as an opportunity to pontificate about what the church should be doing, I have to agree that this is a home turf issue, in terms of geography, history, and doctrine.

It was later than most when mine finally said "OK, no more blessing the sacrament at home now." It was well after most people had already returned.

My stake (also with a doctor in the presidency, and in Utah) just said respect each other's choices, then shut down completely for one week and did zoom church for a few months. Even after we were back, little was said about masks, and nothing by leadership.

As one of the bazillion descendants of the Kamehameha household, I'm very interested.
